Natasha’s Story
I’ve had 5 nasty concussions from sports between 2014 and 2023. I healed and felt different after every single one, when they say no two concussions are the same, they mean it.
Around 2016 I started to get really bad continuous headaches that just didn’t go away. I’d had scans done, tried multiple medications, and seen different doctors. Eventually I thought well I guess I just have to live with it.
After I finished high school in 2019 I got diagnosed with PCS. The reason it got picked up was because my reading speed is the same as a 10 year old… At that moment a lot of the stuff I struggled with in school made so much sense, I battled to finish exams on time, I struggled with reading long passages of writing. It was quite funny to realize all the problems I had which I thought were normal, actually aren’t.
My symptoms flare up randomly and some days are worse than others, but I just try take it one day at a time.
